Theresa Dernbach

Theresa Dernbach received her PCS June of 2001. She has been with the Natrona County School District #1 in Casper, Wyoming since 1991 as a school based physical therapist employed by a public school district.  After completing her BS in PT in 1983 from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks and a MPT from the University of Washington, Seattle 1990, she went on to a transitional doctorate in PT from Regis University, Denver, Colorado in August of 2007.  Theresa began her PT career in an acute care hospital in Idaho, where her love of pediatric PT grew.  She explored this love in the Campbell County School District in Gillette, Wyoming, and realized that she needed more training to stay in the field of pediatric PT.  So she returned to school and returned to Casper, Wyoming where I have been since 1991.

Theresa’s professional love is international volunteer projects working with children and their families in the arena of physical therapy.  She has been fortunate to learn from the health care providers, children and their families in the following wonderful countries; Bosnia, China, Croatia, Haiti, Lithuania, Malta, and Romania since 1993.  She volunteered with the Peace Corps from 1996-1997 and was assigned to a University teaching students in the physical therapy program, along with working with staff members to advance their bachelor of science degree program to one of a entry levels masters in physical therapy.  She continues to love to learn and expand her skills in physical therapy, especially in those areas dealing with children of all ages.

Personal interests include fencing, swimming, biking and reading romances. Can anyone ever get enough romance?!  During the winter season, Theresa judges high school gymnastics throughout the state of Wyoming.  Loves to stay busy and try new things every year.  Unfortunately for those on the gift receiving end this year, it was crochet.  And yes, that “thing” you received was a dishcloth!

CONGRATULATIONS THERESA FROM THE WYPTA
