Is it time to give the cold shoulder to icing?  Come learn why it might be, and what you should be doing instead to help you patient's recover from injury and muscle soreness the most efficiently as possible.

Craig Hadfield, DPT, Cert DN, Cert SMT, Dip Osteopractic and recent graduate from AAMT's Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy is instructing this course, hosted by Proactive Rehabilitation & Fitness, based on review of over 275 empirical articles on optimizing orthopedic injury and muscle soreness, and clinical experience.

This course is intended to provide a comprehensive review of evidence to-date and related innovative interventions of various types for optimizing injury and muscle soreness recovery.  Evidence and techniques supporting a shift away from frequent icing and rest in favor of a more effective and non-harmful acronym of interventions will be provided.  This course will utilize didactic presentation, incorporating multi-media, and lab portions in which manual techniques, modalities, and intervention programming skills will be taught and evaluated.  Attendants will return to their practices with knowledge and skills to optimize injury recovery and muscle soreness with improved efficiency and safety.  This will support improved patient outcomes and emphasizes empirical knowledge by which they can educate patients, parents, coaches, and other healthcare providers in avoiding wasteful or harmful treatments, and collaborate in optimizing care.
